In the beginning there was nothing, only Dark and directionless waters named NUN.
Atum (God of sun, also called RA) created himself by uttering his own name. He was responsible for bringing order to the heavens and the earth. He emerged from the chaotic darkness of NUN as a mythical Bennu bird. He flew to Heliopolis, where at dawn he and alighted on the Benben, an obelisk representing a ray of the sun. After fashioning a nest of aromatic boughs and spices, he was consumed in a fire and miraculously sprang back to life.
Atum created two offspring. His son SHU and his daughter TEFNUT. Representing dry air and moist air. They symbolize two universal principle of human existence: right and left = justice.
The sun god, Re ruled over the earth, where humans and divine beings coexisted. Humans were created from the Eye of Re.
This happened when the eye separated from Re and failed to return. Shu and Tefnut went to fetch it, but the eye resisted. In the ensuing struggle, the eye shed tears from which humans were born.
The act of bringing the eye back to the creator was equivalent to healing the earth – the restoration of right and order. Maintaining right and order to prevent the earth from falling into chaos was central to the pharaoh’s role.
Shu and Tefnut separated the sky from the waters and produced children GEB and NUT. Representing the dry land and sky. When the primeval waters receded, a mound of earth -Geb appeared, providing the first solid dry land for the sun god, Re, to rest.
But gods start to make a fun of Re because of his age. So he decided to go back to the heavens. Now Re lived in the heavens, where order was established. Each morning he was reborn in the east and travelled across the sky in a boat, called the Bark of Millions of Years, accompanied by a number of gods who acted as his crew. The sun god was carried across the sky by the scarab god, Khepri, a dung beetle. His chief enemy was the Apep, a huge serpent that lived in the Nile and the waters of Nun. Apep tried to obstruct the solar bark’s daily passage, but the sun god was ultimately victorious.
Geb and Nut produced four offspring: SETH the god of disorder; OSIRIS the god of order; and their sisters, NEPHTHYS and ISIS.
Seth married Nephthys, however by Ra order Seth was unable to have offspring. Nephthys was very unhappy because of this and also she was not happy in their sexual life. Every time Seth touched Nephthys her skin was burned and the act brought her a lot of pains.
Nephthys get jealous as she saw her sister Isis and her brother Osiris happily married. Isis and Osiris brought pleasure to each other all the time.
Nephthys desired to spent just one night in Osiris arms. So she tricked him. She dressed as her sister and by pretending to be Isis she seduced Osiris.
But Nephthys brought a child named ANUBIS. When Seth found out about what his wife did he got jealous and decided to kill his brother Osiris. Nun felt sorry for Anubis and hid him away from Seth.
Seth prepared a huge party for Osiris full of singing, dancing and playing. In the middle of party he brought a coffin. And told the one who will fit it, he can keep it . Many men tried but the only one who fit it was only Osiris. Once he entered, Seth closed the coffin on him and with his men throw him into the Nile.
When Isis heard about the death of her husband. She immediately look after him. After several days She found the coffin and inside the body of her dead husband. Isis hid the body into grass before she could perform rituals to allow him to pass into the After life.
But Seth went to check on dead Osiris and found his body. He cut his body to 14 pieces and spread them all over Egypt.
Next morning Isis found out what happened. She changed herself to a huge bird and found all pieces of her husband. With the help of Nephthys they put his body together. Seth found Nephthys tried to help Isis. She tried to run away- to fly to the sky by using her wings. But Seth caught her wings and cut them off. And that is the moment she died.
On the night of Full moon, Isis used her magic and brought her husband to the life.
But Osiris told her he is not able to stay for a long because he must pass the way to the hereafter. And because they had only the one and the last night, they spent it together the most romantic way. At the end Osiris informed her she will bring a child called Horus. Who will win over Seth and become great protector of the Egyptian people. By taking back the throne from Seth, Horus would restore order and peace to the Universe.
And so it happened. Horus became the King of Egypt and Seth was banished forever.
,,Surid son of Salhouk, one of the Egyptian kings before the flood of the world, built 2 great Pyramids. The Reason for building the pyramids was a dream. Surid had a dream 300 years before the Flood of the world. In his dream: the whole Earth was flooded with water, people swam helplessly around the earth as drowned, and the stars left their paths out of confusion and collided with terrible noise.Continue reading
