Marsa Matrooh 2 – Best sea I have ever seen

So we sat on the balcony and started to eat the roast chicken which my husband brought for us. But even though I was very hungry, I didn’t eat much. I had a terrible headache and I felt I will faint soon.. So I asked my husband to make me a cup of Nescafe. I thought it’ll wake me up somehow, but now you wish I never drink it.

You are probably wondering why I’m saying that? I simply suffered all night in pain. I got a fever and I couldn’t stand on my legs. Fortunately, I had pills with me. I took them, but strangely they didn’t help me at all, and at about 4 in the morning I had the last idea of rescuing myself and I listened to the Quran. Surprisingly, after about half an hour of listening to the Quran, I felt better and finally fell asleep.

The next morning, when I woke up, I was completely exhausted and weak. but we still had plans to go to sea today. I really didn’t want to ruin our vacation. I already missed the sunrise over the sea and the morning swimming. Till now I am angry of myself because I have missed it but nothing was in my hands.

In front of Cleopatra´s Bath

So we dressed up and left for a new adventure. We had a plan to go to the Cleopatra bathroom. So we took a taxi because this place is quite far. And when we got there, what happened? The whole area was closed !!! And that really pissed me off. I’ve been waiting 8 years of my life to see this place and it’s closed? I tried to bribe the guards to let us in, but for the first time in my life, I saw a man in Egypt who was adamant. He said there were cameras and that the military was checking it, and he would have a big problem.

Cleopatra´s bath from Up

So I quickly took a picture t in front of the object to at least remember that I was there. but honestly I didn’t see any of it ..

and we continued our journey…

Our second stop was a place for lovers … a very famous place for all couples in love. And what do you think? Object closed. I really had to laugh at my luck!

so we continued our journey…

Our last idea was just to go take a bath. Anywhere … Well, we drove about another 20km and we couldn’t find a free beach. They always told us that we can’t stop at a particular beach.

Taking a video for you

Finally, we reached the paid beach again, which was again owned by the army. The taxi driver told us that he wanted about 400 Egp!!! And we found out we didn’t have enough money with us. So my husband gave him 200 Egp and said he would give him the rest when he will return for us … the driver wasn’t excited about it but he agreed. However, he was really expensive but he knew we had no other choice.

The beach and the sea were really beautiful. it was the most beautiful beach I have ever seen in my life. But unfortunately, because I was sick I couldn’t swim. t I wanted to drink juice. So I ordered one for me and the other for my husband and daughter. I waited for about half an hour and then the waiter came back saying he didn’t have enough juice. He said he could only bring us one.

The best sea I have ever seen

I agreed, but again I had to wait another half hour before he brought me the juice. But thank God I finally got it. Well, because I didn’t swim, I shot at least one video for you, which will be released soon.

Waiting for my drink and having a sunbath 😀

We were there again until evening and then we wanted to go back to hotel. But not by taxi. We found a mini bus for only 70 Egp! We used it enthusiastically for our return.

Then we just packed up and went to catch our bus back to Alexandria.

In short, Marsa Matrooh was not really a paradise for me as I was told. It’s nice to see it, but honestly, I don’t want to go back there. For me, the prices are overpriced and everything is owned by the army. In addition, Marsa Matrooh is a scaled-down copy of Alexandria.
