Suddenly, I felt THE beautiful smell coming out right from the door. “THIS IS IT !” I thought to myself…the only real place where I can get warm is the “heart of all home” THE KITCHEN !
The irresistible smell led me to the cooker where I saw an orange soup.
“What is it?” I have asked my mother-in-law.
“This is Ads.” Sounds her response. “Will you taste it?”
“Oh, yes of course I would love to taste because it smells really amazing.”
My mother-in-law smiled and handed to me spoonful of soup. And when my taste buds first met this soup I knew I was in love.
“I want a full plate.” I blurted out. And I got it right away.
“This is the Pharaoh’s soup, and we cook it exactly the way as they did. The recipe have not changed for all those centuries.”
And in this moment I got it. About this soup I was reading in the book of pharaoh years ago but even in my the wildest dream I could not imagine that I will find it right in the kitchen of my mother-in-law.
In the book of pharaoh was written that Ancient Egyptian ate this soup in the winter times to keep them warm and healthy because this soup is vitamin bomb. I always admired wisdom of pharaohs but now more then ever because it touched my real life and saved me from hungriness and cold.
And since then with this amazing soup I easily spend and pass the winter in Egypt.
At the end I have taken over an authentic recipe from my mother-in-law and I will share it with you for the first time today.
All What you need for your Lentil soup
♦ 1 cup yellow lentils
♦ 1 medium onion
♦ 1 medium potato
♦ 1 medium tomato
♦ 2 cloves of garlic
♦ 1 big carrot
♦ 1 tablespoon of salt
♦ 1 tablespoon of crushed cumin
♦ 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper
Easy to cook
♦ Wash the lentils and put it in a larger pot. Cut the rest of the ingredients into larger cubes and add to the lentils. Pour in water and add the spices. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes.
♦ Then we use a hand mixer and blend everything to smooth.
♦ For decoration, cut a large onion into a slice and sauté in a spoonful of oil to a light brown color. Then fry the noodles to gold colour and immediately add to the soup.
♦ Serve warm.
I believe that my recipe is great and really understandable, but I’ve uploaded a video that shows how easy it really is. One of the biggest advantages is that you make a lentil soup in one pot and do not have to spend hours in the kitchen.
